Expedition goes on

While the whole world is watching our Olympic Team winning gold one after one, in Tien-Sian mounts KazGeo technical alpinism team continues its expedition. We’ve just got fresh news and photos:

Route 5A traverse of all six summits of Crown peak (4860 m) was left unconquered this time, told us Leonid Krupa the expedition captain. Bad weather conditions and mudflow danger made the team to put off the climb until the situation improves
Descended team headed to help alpinists from Tomsk who were under stone fall on Raceka peak. One of the Russian alpinists fell off and injured his back. Our team with other alpinists helped to get the injured down where qualified medical assistance was provided to him.
Our team successfully did two other 5A routes (Kuzmenko and Polaka) to Baichechekey peak. After two days they’re going to climb one of the most difficult 5B routes (Mikhailova) to Box peak, with several overnights on wall.
This is a third part of the technical alpinism expedition to Tien-Sian. Its aim is collecting snow, ice water and plants samples to register results of the climate change in this region.
