Mazbaev Ordenbek

Member of Academic Council

Doctor of Geography, Candidate of Pedagogical Science, Dean of geography-ecology department of KazNPU after Abai. Have great experience in auto-motor tourism, mountain-desert hiking. Participant of USSR Motor Tourism Championship 1989: 5000 km Kazakhstan-wise.

Passage experience, difficulty level 5; Pioneer passage of 2900 km along Betpak-Dala, central Tien Shan Mountains;

Silver medal of USSR Championship; Passage experience, 1-3 difficulty level in mountain tourism, hiking. Chokan Valikhanov Expedition 2001-2010; “Atazhurtka sayakhat” Expedition along Zhetysu Region 2008;

Tourist, scientist, published numerous studies and works in the field of geography, environment, pedagogics and tourism.


Bodrov Sergey

Leader of Exploration Program Project

Graduated from Olympic Reserve School, master of sports. Graduated from Almaty Military High School.

Keen on motorsports. Participant of legendary orange expedition Murmansk-Vladivostok 2008. Medal winner of Silk Road Rally 2008, Kochevnik Trophy 2008. Winner of Zolotoi Telenok Expedition Trophy 2009.

Konstantin Orlov

Leader of Exploration Program Project

Graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh State University in 1993.

Biologist by profession.

Professional navigator. Engaged in motorsports since 2000. Repeated winner of Kazakhstan competitions, prize-winner of “Kochevnik – Trophy”, winner of “Tien Shan – Trophy” 2005, participant of World Cup in Morocco 2007, prize-winner of international rally raid “Astana Challenge - Silk Road Rally”, T1 category. Participant of “Expedition Trophy 2008” (Murmansk - Vladivostok). In 2007 he crossed the Baltic Sea on sports yacht as a team member.

Hobbies: snowboard, snowmobiles, hockey, hunting, fishery, travelling.


Berik Baimagambetov

Kazakh Geographic Society Academic Council member

Studied Hydrology engineering at Kirov Kazakh National University.

Works at Climate and Water Research Department in KazHydroMet

Participated in many water bodies research expeditions in South-East and Central Kazakhstan.

In 2007 took part in a seasonal detachment of the 52-nd Russian Antarctic Expedition on board scientific research expedition ship “Academic Fedorov”

Head of Hydrology department of KazHydroMet. Deals with the subject of transboundary rivers in Kazakhstan. Expert in Inter-Governmental committees on transboundary rivers conservation with PRC and Russian Federation.

Has scientific publications related to mudflow, water resources.


Vasily Mozzhukhin

Responsible for medical maintenance and expedition photo-video shooting

Studied surgery at Saint-Petersburg State Medical Academy. Up to 2004 worked as a surgeon.

From 1996 to 2003 took part in more than 50 kayak expeditions to different parts of the globe (Norway, Mexico, Laos, Dominican Republic, Africa, Middle Asia, Altai, Caucasus). In 2003 participated in crossing 25 metres waterfall In Mexico. A member and a cameraman of a TV-programme “Russian Extreme”.

Since 2004 up to present works as a director-cameraman in sport and geographic movies. Geography of his projects spreaded worldwide: Africa and Europe, South and Central America, New Zealand and Fiji, South-East and Central Asia, Arctic and Altai, Tuva and Mongolia, and many other countries and regions.

Eyjolfur Mar Teitsson

Responsible for auto-technical maintenance

Eyjolfu is a mechanic of the Kazakh Geographic Society team. He works as a company mechanic. Over a number of years Eyjolfu has worked with modified vehicles in severe conditions. In 2010 he took part in Indian science expedition which ran in minus 50-60oC conditions.
