The magic of the Australian sky

This is a fantastic video starry sky Australian amateur astronomer, was shot and operated by Alex Chernyi. Alex lives and works in Melbourne software developer. And in his spare time he devotes himself fully to his second passion - astronomy and photography. He is an active member of the Astronomical Society of the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society..


 

Within two years, Alex was trying to lift it a unique phenomenon, which is called the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis). It was evident during the last week of January 2012 with the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. The scarlet glow of the Aurora - is charged oxygen atoms of the particles during of magnetic storms in the sun. Intensiveness of lights depends on solar activity
