All our activities aim to popularise science, active life-style, adventures and travels. Expedition to the South Pole is our first large-scale project and for sure is not the last one. I see your keen interest in our projects and a great desire to join them. This warms our hearts and gives us energy to further productive work.

Kazakh Olympic Gold

Kazakh Olympic Gold

Kazakh team surprised everyone in the past London Olympics. Kazakhstan got 7 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals. Bicycle racer Aleksandr Vinokurov and weightlifter Zulfia Chinshallo brought the first gold to our team. The third gold was brought by weightlifter Maya Maneza during the first Olympic days.

The Kazakh Geographic Society is a non-profit organization. We bring together travelers, scientists, and those who are simply interested in science. Discovering science and opening up new vistas, we are building a new heritage for the next generations.

Our aim is to develop Kazakh science, culture and ecology. If you share our ideas, we would be happy to have you onboard. Our simple principles are enthusiasm and devotion to work.

Become a full member of the KGS

A full membership gives you an opportunity to take part in conferences, geographic expeditions, present scientific-methodological content for publishing, and also, for a monthly membership fee, you will receive them on a priority basis.

Become a volunteer of the KGS

Volunteers of the Society can invite friends, help with organizing conventions and expeditions on a voluntary basis. In addition, volunteers can contribute suggestions to the Society, and they also receive teaching aids and news on a priority basis.

Become a KGS subscriber

Being the Society subscriber, you can invite friends, retail links of the Society content on Internet, and also take part in promotional events and offers.

General rules of the KGS

Rights and obligations of the full membership holder:

The full membership holder of the Kazakh Geographic Society (hereafter referred to as "the Society") has right to:

  • Participate in any events of the Society (e.g. expeditions, conferences etc.);
  • Freely decide to enter or withdraw membership;
  • Elect or be elected to General Body of the Society;
  • Contribute suggestions to the Society activities by participating in the Society Conventions;
  • Contribute funds and provide feasible assistance in holding activities of the Society;
  • Use premises, facilities, equipment, and other the Society’s properties as applicable;
  • Purchase scientific-methodological, study or any other aids published by the Society, on a priority basis ;
  • Receive information about the Society activities from the Governing Bodies of the Society.

Full membership holder obligations:

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the Society and implement decisions of the Governing Bodies of the Society;
  • Propagate, defend, advocate and foster the chartered aims and objectives of the Society;
  • Provide feasible financial assistance; further material base; preserve properties;
  • Further new members involvement in the Society activities;
  • Take an active part in promotion events and activities of the Society;
  • Provide accurate fee payments.

Volunteer of the Kazakh Geographic Society has the right to:

  • Receive information about the Society activities from the Governing Bodies of the Society;
  • Purchase scientific-methodological, study or any other aids published by the Society, on a priority basis;

  • Take part in the Society promotional events ;

Volunteer obligations:

  • Provide feasible assistance in developing the Society on a voluntary basis;
  • Propagate, defend, advocate and foster the chartered aims and objectives of the Society;
  • Provide feasible financial assistance;
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the Society and implement decisions of the Governing Bodies of the Society;
  • Promptly provide any alterations in personal information (e.g. job rotation, personal and contact changes)

Rights and obligations of the subscriber:

The subscriber has the right to:

  • Receive news and updates of the Society via e-mail;
  • Invite friends and retail links to the content published by the Society;
  • Take part in promotional events and quizzes of the Society (only the KGS subscribers have right to take part in the Society promotional events).
